My name is Adriana Plucha, I am a contemporary Polish artist and fashion designer.
My artistic path began in childhood, in natural contact with art through my father — an artist and art conservator. I grew up surrounded by gilded icons, paintings, copies of Old Masters, and the atmosphere of a studio filled with the scent of oil paints and turpentine. This environment shaped my early perception of painting as a relationship between matter, light, and process.
I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (Faculty of Textile and Fashion Design) in 2010, obtaining a diploma in fashion and footwear design. Alongside this, I developed an interest in sculpture, which remains an important part of my practice.
In the following years, I refined my technique by studying and recreating works of Old Masters, as well as creating sacred paintings, portraits, and figurative compositions. At the same time, I developed gilding techniques and explored the technology of natural tempera.
In 2015, I created the first painting from the “Gardens of the World” series, which became a foundation for the further development of my work. I use various painting techniques — from egg tempera, based on natural binders and mineral pigments, to oil painting developed within figurative series. I incorporate high-carat gold leaf (23–23.75 ct), as well as silver and platinum.
The “Gardens of the World” series evolved from inspirations drawn from Asian aesthetics toward contemporary abstract and figurative forms.
In 2017, the painting “Obsidian Sun” achieved a price of PLN 19,000 at the 7th Contemporary Art Auction in Sopot. In 2018, the “Gardens of the World” collection debuted in Vienna.
